Flow is forecast to finally become southerly late Friday with low temps in the mid 30s to low 40s. PoPs increase through the day from SW to NE and depending on how cold/dry the airmass is at the onset, could see some p-type issues across the northwest. Did not stray too far from blended guidance given the lack of consensus but temps on Friday could end up a bit cooler than the mid 40s to low 50s currently forecast, especially across the Piedmont where the cool/dry air will be deepest (CAD setup). High pressure will be tough to dislodge on Friday with moisture overrunning the cool near-surface stable layer. Trend in 00Z/07 guidance remains for little to no local secondary cyclogenesis and lower QPF across the region. Next system approaches from the W on Friday but significant questions remain regarding the evolution of the surface pressure pattern. LONG TERM /THURSDAY NIGHT THROUGH MONDAY/.
